“Chris’s place was the perfect vacation for our family of 4 and our 2 pups! We had never taken both the kids and the dogs on vacation before so we were nervous but the house had everything we needed, dog bowls, dog beds, dog toys, games to play with the kids and a fully stocked kitchen that made cooking for the whole family easy. The house felt safe, was quiet and cozy. We were within 10-30 minutes of many activities such as ice skating and snow tubing and lots of restaurants. If you’re looking for a mountain getaway with the fam and or pups, this is your spot!”

"This house is the perfect place to relax and unwind. But when you want to be with the crowds it’s just a short drive to shopping, dining and sight seeing. I watched deer several days in the front of the house eating apples off a neighbors tree. Watched all kinds of birds, from hawks to hummingbirds on a daily basis. Has a great yard with a fire pit and a nice deck to cook out or just sit and read or have your morning coffee in the cool morning air. Just a great place all around!"

Golden boy felt so welcomed. The ping pong table downstairs was perfect. The best surprise were the marshmallow sticks that we long enough to sit back and roast them at the fire pit! The yard is such a nice size and the landscaping was gorgeous. We sat outside on the great porch most of the time, playing games (thanks for those, too) and enjoying the outstanding weather. Great place!”

“I cannot say enough good things about Chris’ place! My husband and I visited Blowing Rock for a getaway with our dog, Lemon. The home was made as dog friendly as possible!! Everything you could think of was available for our dog— bowls, dog couch, toys, a mat for the water bowl, even a leash should you need an extra! Even some of the decorations were dog themed. Even the amazing deck had a gate to keep your furry friend contained on the porch. Lemon enjoyed bird watching and soaking up some afternoon sun with us each day we were there. The place is exactly as described and has everything to make you feel at home. My favorite part was looking through the books of Polaroid photos from all the guests that have stayed (most of the furry nature). Main Street Blowing Rock is literally a 10 minute drive so you are close to everything but still have peace and quiet. We will definitely be coming to stay again and hopefully enjoy the fire pit next time."

They seem to have thought of everything down to the small details. Getting in was easy, communication was so smooth, and the house had everything we needed. Chris was super easy to reach for questions. The house was just the right size for myself, my husband, and our two dogs. The yard was amazing and the neighborhood was super quite. The deck was great (we wish the weather had cooperated so that we could have used it more!!!) the guest book was my favorite part. The location was great bc it was super close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and all of the hiking and attractions we really wanted to see: Grandfather Mountain, The Blowing Rock, Bass Lake (Cone Manor). The kitchen was very nice and the open concept living space made the place feel pretty large. We would definitely rent this house again! The dogs LOVED IT!

“We had a wonderful stay at Chris’s fantastic house, which sits in secluded peace ~10 minutes from “downtown” Blowing Rock. The house is welcoming and thoughtfully appointed, which made our stay extremely comfortable—bath linens were great, and travel sizes of soap, body wash, and lotion were available in the bathroom. Bed was big and comfortable, full kitchen was at our disposal, and the couches in the living area were perfect to crash in after a day of hiking on the many trails in the area. The deck is also awesome—we had breakfast out there one cool morning and enjoyed the fresh air. Blowing Rock is really nice—great places to eat and shop and lots to explore. We look forward to coming back and would gladly stay at Chris’s again given the opportunity."

"My husband and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary this past weekend and this was the perfect place for our weekend getaway with our dog! Very very dog friendly! There was a couch specific for dogs and a camera was even provided to take a picture with film that developed instantly! And my dog loved all the chuck it balls that were around. He had an absolute blast running around the large yard after them! The living room was super cozy. We made a fire every night and were able to just relax and disconnect from everything. The location is also very close to Grandfather Mountain for hiking and downtown Blowing Rock. Would definitely recommend this place and would 110% stay there again!"

“Such a beautiful nice small cabin feel, perfect for a small getaway to experience the high country of North Carolina. My girlfriend and I took our first vacation as a family by bringing our infant baby girl and 2 wonderful dogs. And honestly we could’ve have asked for a better place to stay on our first mountain trip. First of as a dog owner the attention to detail that the hosts is unmatched. With roughly an acre, it has a huge front and backyard complete with a fire pit station including 2 dog leash runners so your furry friends can enjoy the nice flames with you. Many dog bowls, a dog bed, a crate, some toys to play fetch, and a scrapbook filled with pictures of past renters and their pets makes you appreciate your stay here. As for the house, two very comfortable beds, big inviting windows in the front as well as leading to a nice size deck, and 2 great sofas that you can sink into after a day of hitting downtown Blowing Rock or Boone. Overall the best stay I’ve ever experienced.”

“Chris & Karen are true pro's @ this AirBNB thing. I have never stayed in a place so well equipped for whatever??, my wife loved the K-cup coffees & fireplace (we're from FL) extremely dog friendly (toys, bowls, blankets etc.), even found baby playpen& highchair in a closet. WOW! Beautiful property, super quiet, perfect accomodations for our stay to see our daughter graduate from App State. Blowing Rock is a wonderful place to visit. My only complaint would be the road (single lane dirt path)coming in off the highway was a little challenging mostly due to the heavy fog when we arrived. It was better without the fog (I drive a Challenger, not a truck) I highly recommend!! This is on our to return to list for future trips."

"We had a great stay! The owner had equipped the house with anything you could possibly need. Great location- we got to the Moses Cone Manor House area of the Blue Ridge Parkway in about 10 minutes and were able to walk for hours on the carriage path trails around Trout Lake and up to Rich Mountain. And the house was extremely pet-friendly! Our border collie felt right at home🙂"

We adored the look of the place, not to mention just how pet-friendly it was! My wife says the front yard reminds her of a fairy garden. By the way, pet-friendly is an understatement, the owners provide bowls, beds, blankets, and even a crate for the fur babies. I saw a few deer grazing in the yard, which was super cool! Beautiful outdoor space with a deck and your choice of charcoal or gas grill. The bed is super comfy, and the sheets are so soft! Owners even gave me a heads-up on road closures during the drive-over. I have 3 dogs and was about to spend well over $1k for just 3 nights in a hotel, but then I found this place for virtually half that with an additional night's stay!

Quaint, peaceful cabin located within short driving distance of many restaurants and attractions. It was dog-friendly, with bowls, a nice yard, and a dog bed. Chris was very responsive, organized, and flexible. We were impressed with the guest guide and amount of details provided to settle in, including recommendations for restaurants, among other ideas. We appreciated the nice touches such as having all the streaming apps signed in, a well-stocked kitchen including k cups, and charging cords already provided. Chris has thought of everything to make guests feel at home."
